Hi Liz: I was thrilled to win the casserole. We packed all our stuff and locked it in the back room before we went to Maine. The renters along with two separate burglaries helped themself to almost everything that I hadn’t taken to Maine. Right down to my Egyptian cotton bathmats!

Hi Klaudia, Flavors that go well with caramel would be peanut butter or banana. I found two recipes for a peanut butter cake. Peanut Butter Cake #1 uses a packaged cake mix. Peanut Butter Cake #2 is made from scratch. There is one cake that I absolutely love found at Wilton. It is a 'butter cake' with a hint of almond flavor. This cake would also go well with a caramel frosting. I also have a banana cake recipe. If you are interested in that recipe, I would be happy to pass it along. I hope your daughter's birthday is a truly special day and everyday thereafter.

Hi Liz,

I want to use your caramel buttercream frosting for a cake though I was wondering if you can recommend a good cake that would match it. Besides me doing a chocolate cake what esle would you recommend? It is for my daughters birthday cake which is going to be in the shape of winnie the pooh. Love the frosting!!!! You have talent!

Yes it looks like the storm, or I should say lots of rain will be coming to the East Coast. I don’t mind, we need some rain. (sure I say that now)
I just made a big pot of Vegetarian Soup. I put everything I could think of in it, and it came out pretty good. All that was missing was some hearty bread to go along with it. Oh well. Maybe I will try and make some tomorrow on a rainy day.

Funny. Ina Garten is my favorite TV cook, also. I well remember the Galloping Gourmet, and I will always, always adore Julia Child. I saw her drop a chicken on the floor, pick it up, and keep on cooking way back in the day and knew it was love.

It looks like along the Gulf Coast will get a lot of rain today, but they’re predicting Pensacola for the worst. I’m thinking that will dump the rain on you as well. Oh, I hope Carrie is well. It’s so hard worrying about your loved ones, isn’t it, but things usually turn out all right in the end. My next door neighbor Karen said something about that this week – how many things she had worried about at school that never came to pass. Hugs!
