Granny’s Triangle

Materials:

Size F crochet hook (for a larger triangle use a larger hook).

Small amounts 4 ply worsted weight yarn (colors A, B, C or D).

Stitch Guide
Beginning dc cluster-Ch 2, * YO, insert hook in sp indicated, YO and pull up a loop, YO and draw through 2 loops on hook; repeat from * once more, Yo and draw through all 3 loops on hook.

DC  Cluster-*Yo, insert hook in sp indicated, YO and pull up a loop, YO and draw through 2 loops on hook; repeat from * 2 times more, YO and draw through all 4 loops on hook.

With color A, Ch 5;  join with sl st to first ch to form a ring.

Rnd 1 (Right side):  Work Beginning dc cluster in ring, *ch 3, dc cluster in ring, ch 5, dc cluster, repeat from * around until there are 5 dc clusters. Ch 3 dc cluster in ring,  ch 2, dc in top of first (beginning) dc cluster (6 clusters).

Rnd 2:  With right side facing join color B; working on half of the corner-ch 3 (counts as 1 dc now and throughout), 2 dc over the dc just made, ch 2, sc in ch 3 sp, ch 2, *in next ch 5 sp; 3 dc, ch 3 1 trc, ch 3, 3 dc, ch 2, 1 sc in next ch 3 sp, ch 2, repeat from * around 1 more time.  End with 3 dc, ch 3, 1 trc, ch 3 in half corner sp.  Sl st in top of beg. ch 3.

Rnd 3:  With right side facing join color C; ch 3, 1 dc in each of next 2 dc, *+1 dc in ch 2 sp, ch 2, 1 dc in next ch 2 sp, 1 dc in each of next 3 dc, 3 dc in next ch 3 sp, ch 3, 3 dc in next ch 3 sp+, 1 dc in each of next 3 dc, repeat from * around 1 time, then repeat from + to + then end with sl st to top of beg ch 3 (14 dc each side).

Rnd 4:  With right side facing join color A or D; ch 3, *1 dc in each dc and ch 2 sp until you reach the corner.  In each corner work 3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc, repeat from * around end with sl st to top of beg. ch 3 (21 dc each side). Fasten off and weave ends in the back of the triangle.
