This recipe calls for onion powder. I keep dried onion flakes on hand and pulverize the flakes into a powder, using a mortar and pestle, as needed for a recipe. Dried onion flakes keep much better than onion powder.
I also keep buttermilk on hand for baking. I buy a quart of buttermilk and into small storage bags I freeze one cup portions.
‘In A Pinch’ Ranch Dressing
In a small bowl, add-
1/3 cup mayonnaise or Miracle Whip Dressing © Kraft Foods
1/4 cup buttermilk
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1 ½ teaspoon dried dill weed
Mix well. For a better flavor, refrigerate for an hour or more.
Makes approximately 1/2 cup of dressing
