Nicky is doing better. The steroids seem to be helping.
Carrie made an appointment with a dermatologist in Fernandina Beach, but they referred him to one in Jacksonville Beach that handles children. That dermatologist in Fernandina Beach made the appointment in Jax Beach for 2:45 p.m. today. They told her that all she needs to do was to go to her job before the appointment and get the necessary insurance forms. She did everything they told her to do. We traveled an hour and a half hours to get to Jax Beach from here (Jacksonville, Florida has a total area of 874.3 square miles (2,264.5 km²), making Jacksonville the largest city in land area in the contiguous United States).
Nicky, Carrie, and I arrived there, Carrie filled out the necessary paper work, and after that, they told her that she would have to have a referral from Nicky’s doctor. They said that they were so sorry, but there was nothing they could do. “So sorry for the inconvenience, but they needed the signature” WHY IN THE HELL DIDN’T THEY TELL US THAT BEFORE WE GOT THERE!!! We had to reschedule Nicky for this Wednesday to give Carrie time to get the referral and the signature she needs from Nicky’s primary doctor. So, another hour and a half it took us to get back home. What a wasted day we had.
Nicky’s rash is clearing, but it has let all brown marks on him, where the rash was. I read that that would happen. I hope those brown spots aren’t permanent.
