Happy ‘2010’

In keeping with my Candian French side, I am making our traditional tourtière for New Year’s eve.  I make homemade baked beans with this dish but I forgot to soak the beans last night.  I know you can do a quick method but I prefer to soak the beans overnight.  Therefore, I won’t be baking beans today.

Now what?

I had Tom buy me can of B&M baked beans-THAT’S WHAT!

I want to wish everyone a safe and-

  3. Hi Liz: HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I DID remember to soak my black-eyed peas for Hoppin’ John! LOL I have it simmering now.

We had Proseco. It was so good.

    Have a great day.

  4. Happy New Year’s Liz and family!
I’m not quite sure what the dish your making is, so I will have to go and investigate. I won’t do the quick soak for my beans either, I think it takes away a lot of the flavor and natural juices from the beans. I just make homemade chili a few days ago and soaked my beans overnite. I don’t think I’ve ever tried the B&M baked beans, but that sounds so good to me! yum, and I love Bush’s Vegetarian Baked Beans!

I love the animated New Year’s graphic!

    Blessings to you!
    Much Happiness
    Great Health
    Great Food!
