Carrie and the two youngest grandchildren will be leaving for Texas in eleven days to start a new life. And, if all goes well, they will be headed for New England this coming May to live.
Since Brian and Nicky won’t be trick-or-treating this year, Tom wanted to have a Halloween Supper Party for them.
Earlier, I made-from scratch-Chocolate Cupcakes with Caramel Butter Cream Frosting. Having very little money to spend on decorations, etc., I made the little cupcakes signs-
and name plaques for each child placing the plaques into an apple.
I made a punch for the kids and for us grown-ups…Well, you can see by the picture what kind of punch us grown-ups drank.
Look at how relaxed Grampy is while drinking Grampy’s special punch.
The day before, I made fruit punch-flavored ice cubes with gummy worms sticking out of each cube.
For food we had teriyaki chicken wings, hot dogs rolled in crescent rolls, bacon wrapped water chestnuts, baked beans, brussel sprouts (a scary veggie-LOL) and hash browns.
Tom cut the hash browns into Halloween shapes before they were baked. I thought that was a cute idea.
The kids were happy with all the food and the decor on the table.
After supper, Brian took his saxophone outside to play. He is doing so well and has an ear for music and can play songs by ear.
As the day worn down and after the clean-up-
all the ghouls settled down-
and the family portraits were taken down-
we hoped that we have given the two oldest grandchildren a good childhood memory.
