“Elizabeth” Hat Pattern

A while back I made hats for my granddaughter, Elizabeth. I didn’t post the pattern, but Sunday and yesterday I sat down and finally put pattern to paper by making three hats.

Writing patterns isn’t something that I am very good at doing because you have to keep stopping as you crochet. I can design a crocheted piece, but hesitate to write it down.

You can find the pattern here for this hat.

After making the first one and writing the pattern down as I went along, I came back to read it and found that it didn’t make sense.

Sooooooooooo yesterday, I crocheted the third one at my desk-in front of my pc.

This is the third one I made.  I added a sl st around the brim.  On the last round (instead of working in the round), I turned my work on round 20 then added the sl st.

The second one I made Sunday night.  It is slightly different.  I kind of went off-track and was trying different styles.  Hopefully, I will get the pattern written before I forget.

I call this one-Sunflowers for Elizabeth

That’s it for now.  Here’s hoping that the pattern for hat #1 & 2 makes sense.

  1. These are so cute, Liz! You’re very talented.
They would be cute on dolls too.
I finally got a camera. I came back to see if you had any suggestions, but couldn’t find the post where I had asked the question. lol
I ended up getting a Sony NEX-5N. So far, I love it. I’m still learning, but it’s a pretty easy camera to operate. 🙂 Have a great day!

  2. Hi Liz what adorable hats I love that you named the hat, how cute. I wishI had a little girl to make a hat for. I miss that Morgan is getting older, well I love her age but I miss her young. she is 13 now. How wonderful you made a pattern it sounds like a pain but it’s a nice way to make some extra $$ for creative designs. Very nice. I see you have it as a free download that is nice also and so you. Have a great day!
